Title of Proposal: Homes and Feng Shui
Logline: A highly entertaining television series which shows us how Feng Shui has influenced and shaped some of Asia’s most beautiful homes.
Series Concept:
Homes and Feng Shui will examine the ways in which one’s life can be transformed by harnessing the positive energy of the environment and ways in which business success can be enhanced and promoted.
According to ancient Chinese culture, man’s luck is governed by three cosmic forces ‘heaven luck’ - which everyone is born with but has no control over; ‘man luck’ - which each of us brings to the world by sheer will and determination; and ‘earth luck’ – the spirit and energy of nature around us. Feng Shui is the art of making the most from the third force so that man luck on earth thrives. In this amazing new show, some of Asia’s wealthiest or most outstanding individuals open their private homes and offices for the first time and show how they have made Feng Shui work for them.
Nowhere is the art of Feng Shui practiced more enthusiastically than Asia. It is here that we will visit prominent business people, architects, artists, lawyers, bankers, corporate directors at their homes and their offices. We will see first hand how they have used colours, lucky symbols, placement of furniture, auspicious dates and the flow of chi to improve their personal and professional lives. We will learn how this mystical Chinese art has influenced the design and architecture of most of Asia’s prominent buildings.
This series will be an opportunity to see some of Asia's most beautiful homes, opulent offices, luxurious gardens as well as 6 star health resorts that have used the principles of Feng Shui to rejuvenate the spirit and mind. An eclectic mix of trendy photographers, brazen artists, extravagant businessmen, wild musicians, eccentric lawyers and outrageous fashion designers will create an exciting and compelling viewing experience. Definitive architecture and stunning luxury such as the Sultan of Brunei's Palace will enable this series to go into areas that have never been filmed before.
In addition to exploring the homes, offices and gardens of the rich, famous and infamous, we will also be looking at practical tips on how to make Feng Shui work in our homes and offices. Advised by a Consultant Feng Shui Master, Lorraine Hahn, one of Asia’s most celebrated media personalities and presenters will interview the owners of these magnificent homes. We will also look at the history of Feng Shui and its various guises and applications throughout Asia and conduct real-life interviews with people whose lives have been changed by Feng Shui.
This will be a show made in Asia, about Asia and by Asians. It will be a show that is intrinsically true to itself and to its own cultural identity and will provide a close-up and fascinating look at Asia from within.
We believe that the fascination with Feng Shui both in the East and West will guarantee the success of the series and that it will be a must see show for the whole family.
